Currently our, military is under the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. It's simply as it says, the army does not ask you your sexual orientation and you don't tell it and everyone is fine. However, if someone finds out that someone in the military is gay and reports it, that person get kicked out. Now that person gets kicked out because he /she has gay orientation, that did not affect his/her performance in the battlefield, and still that person gets kicked out. Throughout the year, the US army has lost many skilful (gay) soldiers because they we accused of being gay.
How are we going to fix this issue? Let gays stay in the army , it is that simple. We have to treat all the same in the military. For example, if a man/woman in the military is getting into relationship with another man/woman in the army that person should get kicked out, even if they were gay or not. It is that simple.
Yes the current policy is working, but when someone does tell , we lose another great solider because of their orientation.
