The War on our Border

Washington has been facing this problems for decades now, illegal immigration. Both party lines , Democrat and Republican, haven't pushed hard enough to stop this enormous flow of illegals going into the United States ( Specifically Mexico)  Nearly 5,000 illegals cross the border each day, it is probably more unaccounted for. This number is  ridiculously  huge and unacceptable to We The People who are affected by this insanity.  In the past and present our legislation  have resulted in giving Amnesty to these illegals. Amnesty is simply a reward for those who break the law. This is some proposed bills in Congress that would overwrite past bills and replace it with this.

1. If they come forward they can receiver a "probationary" legal status
2. People under age 30 who were brought to the U.S. as minors could receive their green cards after three years, rather than eight.
3.Undocumented farm workers who can demonstrate they have worked 150 hours or three years in agriculture can apply for green cards.

These concepts that would be applied is  outrageous  to even be considered. These people decided to break the law and now are being rewarded for their actions, while the thousands of others who are waiting on line, following the law, paying the fees, dealing with immigration, are being placed 2nd. We should be treating our legal immigration with better care then we do now. The legal immigrates are the only ones that can fully apply themselves and contribute to society. Illegals on the others hand have to stay under the radar, avoid taxes, and any other concept that can trace them. This isn't just a immigration issue but a national security issue. If we are getting over 5,000 illegals crossing the border and not being properly identified , when are one of those 5,000 going to be a terrorist?  Or are we going to realize that when there is another attack on the United States?

Legal immigration is to be welcomed however illegal immigration should be discouraged and not welcomed. Then how are we going to do this? Well have to do several steps in solving this issue. The first is a very common one, but not the most effective. This is to physically make all our borders and coastlines secure. This includes placing troops, walls, check points, and other border security on the border. The next treatment option that should be enacted is the banning of all amnesty for illegals. We have around 20 million illegals in this country and maybe millions more uncounted. Those are a lot of "winners" of making to this country illegally and breaking the law.  Then the last most important is to enforce our visa laws. Many others will say it is too hard to regulate and observe all visa holders. Then what, are we suppose to fall and cry in a corner? No. We have to either lower the amount of holders, decrease the flow of visa appliers, and increase the management of monitoring coming and current visa holders.
We must never forget that several of the 9/11 hijackers were on expired visas. We failed to watch them, and failed to catch them before they boarded those flights that changed the United States forever.  It cant be denied that at times it is hard to work on immigration, but we cant stop. In the memory of those who died on 9/11, those who die on our border everyday because of the lack of security, and for our future generations , lets fix our immigration problem before it truly gets out of hand.
