Chosing Wars

"This was a war of Obama's choosing," “Obama’s War” Nothing wrong here,
And this is completely correct. He is the new leader and made the  choice to further extend the stay in Afghanistan. As a Congressman from Texas said.... “Is the Commander-in-Chief. Obama has identified himself with this war, as being the 'good war.' He's made the strongest argument for more spending and more troops over there. So, it really is in a political sense, very realistically Obama's war." - Ron Paul.
During the 2008 Presidential campaign, Barack Obama made it clear his belief that we should not fight in Iraq, but instead concentrate on Afghanistan. Now, as President, he has indeed shifted his focus to this region. That means this is his strategy. And, for the sake of the security of the free world, our country must give our troops the support necessary to win this war.
Mr. Obama has to look at Afghanistan. No one has ever won in Afghanistan and no one will. We are spending too much and we have to worry about our home not theirs. We should have left in 2002 after we realized that Osama was lost at Torah Bora. Now we are staying there to spread democracy. They have a 70% illiteracy level and have two working toilets good luck!
People will say to me we will bomb  your over and over. We have to look at why we were bombed. We were bombed because we were on the Arabian Peninsula  and because we were bombing Iraq for years. I wouldn’t like if a base had patrols done in front of my house or another country is telling me how to run my nation. We have to put it in a way if the same would be done to us.
Regan realized in the 1984 that they have to leave Lebanon. He said that we don’t understand the fragile culture there, the extremism and that they have to change it for themselves. In the years we were there, 44 suicide attacks happened. After we left no more occurred. When we entered Iraq, no terror attacks were recorded in Iraq EVER. We came there, BOOM. Extremists will have reason to bomb us if we bomb them. If I am terror leader and I want people to join my group I need to give them a reason to join. So I am for those that are directly affected by the war. And then I tell them this is  how you get back to the people who did this to you. We bomb them (not aiming for people but it happens) and they get more terrorists. We have to stop before we hit the point of no return. They will start making stories how evil we are and how insane we are and we will get bombed for hundreds of years, by children and their children, and theirs etc… Anyways to understand to logic behind this I recommend that you all buy this book called Dying to Win: The Strategic Logic of Suicide Terrorism. It explains more in depth what I am talking about. Thanks for reading

  1. Slight question here. Bush and the Republicans (most of them, not all) have been supporting this war for years, right? It was the previous Congress and administration that started this war, right. It was their choice to stay in this war for seven years, right? So how is this Obama's War? By that logic, is the Iraq War also Obama's War? The best (or worst) that can be said is that he is trying to finish this war so that we can leave. Labeling it Obama's War is just an attempt to shift blame to someone else. This is the United States/NATO’s War.
To a great extent I agree that we should leave Iraq and Afghanistan, but I doubt that doing so will stop all or most of the terrorist attacks. If someone invaded your country for almost a decade would you just calmly let them get away with it? I fear that we have already radicalized these groups. As a side note, there is something wrong with your comment format that is making it difficult to read half of your post. If you answered any of the questions I had in those sections I apologize.

  2. Yea but I am different republican. And yes. This is Obama’s war as other democrat and congressmen said "Obama has identified himself with this war, as being the 'good war.'" "Really is in a political sense," And no Iraq is not his war in your sense, since he said he does not want to focus on it. Did you ever see Charlie Wilson’s War? It was a congressman from NV that got more involved than anyone else in the war of the USSR in Afghanistan. It was not his war by fact but he got that name by getting involved as he did. Get it?
